So I'm just getting into Linux, and I downloaded this file from
FileFront, that ends in "run". Do I just double click on it?

Mods and mutators will generally run under Linux, or will they
generally not run?

You need to execute this file - if there is no such option visible in
your desktop environment, then open a terminal and follow these
instructions: http://icculus.org/lgfaq/#howdoiinstallthisdotbinorrun

Standard mutators (GOTY & all bonus packs) and Strangelove run ok,
others should behave fine as well but sometimes they can be tricky to
install and configure properly.

Good luck Wink
